About the Firm

Our mission is to provide exceptional legal services at reasonable rates to entrepreneurs and privately held businesses in the areas of corporate law, corporate finance, commercial real estate, commercial litigation, case evaluation and review, employment law, healthcare, sports, franchise and business opportunity sales law and estate planning. We pride ourselves in providing excellent service to our clients. In addition, our commitment to state-of-the-art equipment, computer systems, internet capabilities and technology is not commonly found in firms our size.

Firm History

The Firm was founded in June, 1981 by five attorneys who left the Atlanta law firm of Troutman, Sanders, Lockerman & Ashmore. Our name was originally McRae & Holloway, P.C., and our primary area of specialization was commercial real estate. Craig Wagner was one of the five founding Shareholders of the Firm.

In 1984, David Johnston joined the Firm as the Firm's first litigation associate. David became a Shareholder in the Firm in 1986. Under David's guidance, our commercial litigation section of the Firm has grown to five attorneys. The focus of our litigation practice is commercial business disputes, with expertise in employment matters.

In 1987, John Thornburgh, one of our Shareholders and current president, joined the Firm upon his graduation from the University of Georgia Law School. He has worked closely in the corporate and commercial real estate areas with Craig Wagner.

In 1992, the Firm changed its name to Wagner & Johnston, P.C.

In 1996, Mike Rosenthal joined the Firm as a Shareholder, practicing in the corporate, litigation, franchise and healthcare areas. He had formerly been managing shareholder in the Atlanta firm of Weinstein, Rosenthal & Tobin. Upon Mike's admission as a shareholder, we changed our name to Wagner, Johnston & Rosenthal, P.C.

In January, 2004, our Firm relocated its offices from Tower Place in Buckhead to 5855 Sandy Springs Circle Suite 300, Sandy Springs, Georgia 30328. We purchased the third floor of a new 3 story office condominium building near the intersection of I-285 and Roswell Road. We carefully planned and supervised the build out of our new 10,000 square foot offices, with an emphasis on state of the art technology and tasteful décor. 

In October 2005, Justin Daniels joined the Firm as a shareholder.

In June 2006, our Firm celebrated its twenty-fifth Anniversary.

In April 2009, John Tyler, Kyle Woods and A.J. Rollins joined the Firm as shareholders.
